Community and social responsibility in Guyana

At ExxonMobil, we seek to contribute to the social and economic progress of the country and local communities where we operate. We believe that maintaining a fundamental respect for human rights, responsibly managing our impacts on communities and making valued social investments are integral to the success and sustainability of our business.

We had been investing in the community long before the 2015 first oil discovery Liza 1. Since 2012, we have made social investments by partnering with local entities to engage with the community and address community challenges. Our focus areas include the environment, STEM education, and women, youth and community empowerment.

Over the past seven years we have increased our financial support, committing more than GYD$2.5 billion to diverse projects and activities across the country.
