  • Magpies and Peacocks

    April, 2025: Our Sustainability team is collecting used flame-retardant clothing to be recycled into new fashion pieces by non-profit design house Magpies and Peacocks!

  • OCS Blue Verified

    April, 2025: We are OCS Blue Verified! Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is dedicated to preventing plastic pellet, flake and power loss in the environment.

  • This One's for the Gals

    March, 2025: We collaborated with This One's for the Gals to take students from our nearby ISDs to learn about our site and one of our two joint venture partners, ExxonMobil. They heard from a panel of engineers and got to tour the campus before heading to the POWER women in industry conference in Galveston!

    February, 2025: The culmination of years of innovation and collaboration by our team and the team at Lightsource bp, Peacock Solar helps us reduce our site emissions.
    Corpus Christi Symphony's Pat Furley Education Concert Series
    February, 2025: We were honored to sponsor the Corpus Christi Symphony's Pat Furley Education Concert Series. We were treated to a concert featuring everyone's favorite super heroes, along with more than 2,000 elementary and middle school students from the Coastal Bend.
    • Gregory-Portland Education Foundation

      February, 2025: We joined Gregory-Portland Education Foundation in celebrating educators having a huge impact on students in our local community. 

    • Gregory-Portland Independent School District

      January, 2025: Our team came together to collect and donate new school supplies to Gregory-Portland Independent School District students. This year our Engineering team won our contest of collecting the most!

    • United Way of the Coastal Bend

      December, 2024: We ended a record-breaking United Way campaign with a fantastic fishing tournament, raising more than $50,000 to add to our campaign total!

      Meet the Buyer

      September 2024: We welcomed more than 80 local businesses to our site for a Meet the Buyer event in partnership with United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce, Golden Crescent Urban - GCU Chambers of Commerce and Del Mar College Contractor Resource Center. 

      We love our beaches and bays
      August, 2024: We partnered with the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies on a beachcombing event with Jace Tunnell, HRI Director of Community engagement. Partnerships like this demonstrate the importance of the efforts our site takes to mitigate environmental impact.
      Girls Summer Leadership Camp
      July, 2024: Our partnership with Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend allows for students in the Coastal Bend to discover what a future in industry looks like. We know that giving young people the opportunity to try something new can have a lasting impact. We are excited to see the great things ahead for each of the curious minds that attended our Girls Summer Leadership Camp this year.

      July, 2024: GCGV joint venture partner and operator ExxonMobil sent more than twenty public and government affairs employees from across the company to GCGV to learn more about our operations, our work in the community, and our Coastal Bend home. 

      This unique program fosters innovation across our teams, as we work to be the best neighbor in the Coastal Bend and in all of the communities in which our partners operate. GCGV is proud of our rich relationship with founding partners, SABIC and ExxonMobil.
      When it rains, we hand out rain barrels!
      June, 2024: We were honored to be joined by Corpus Christi Councilwoman Sylvia Campos and representatives from Corpus Christi Water to distribute rain barrels bought by GCGV for our workforce. This employee-led project shows our commitment to supporting our workforce's efforts to conserve water at home, just in time for recent rains.
